Special conversation types

Transactional messages (Utility)

Messages initiated by a WhatsApp profile (company) that inform about a specific ongoing transaction (order, reservation, etc.) or inform the customer about the transaction (order) progress.

Phone number verification (Authentication)

Messages initiated by a WhatsApp profile (company) that allow verifying a phone number using one-time access codes (during account registration, account recovery, etc.).

Marketing messages

Messages initiated by a WhatsApp profile (company) used to promote a product or service. For example, personalized offers for customers who have previously made a purchase.

This category also includes any message initiated by a WhatsApp profile that is not an authentication, transactional, or service message (a service message is one written directly by your support team).

Whenever a customer interacts with your profile, a conversation of up to 24 hours is created, during which you can send messages to the customer free of charge (does not apply to marketing templates).

Conversations starting with "Click to WhatsApp" and "Facebook Page Click-to-Action" ads

All messages between the WhatsApp profile (company) and the customer are free for 72 hours if customers start the conversation using a button in click-to-WhatsApp ads or by clicking a button on the Facebook page.

What if the recipient doesn't have WhatsApp?

The message is only charged when the recipient uses WhatsApp. If the recipient doesn't use WhatsApp (or the message is not received by the recipient's phone within the specified time limit), the message will automatically be sent via SMS.

Do I need a WhatsApp account?

No. If you want to use WhatsApp Business API, you need to create a new profile. An existing phone number that is already registered in the WhatsApp app cannot be used.

We will set up a new phone number for you that will work specifically for WhatsApp. However, you need to have an active Facebook account (i.e., Facebook Business Account).

Do I need a Facebook account?

Yes. You need to be registered on Facebook and have a business account (Facebook Business Account).

How long does it take to set up the service?

The service is set up immediately upon phone number activation. In case of capacity exhaustion, there may be a delay.

Why do I have to use message templates?

WhatsApp ensures that app users don't receive SPAM. Therefore, every template sent to a WhatsApp user must have an approved format.

How many templates can I have?

You can have more than 100 templates in your account.

How long does template approval take?

Templates are usually approved within several tens of minutes or hours.
